EUGENIO SOLINAS began his studies at the A. Vivaldi Conservatory of Music in Alessandria, Italy,  where he graduated in 2009 under the guidance of Claudio Merlo. Upon graduation, he continued with the renowned cellist Umberto Clerici. Concurrently, he collaborated with the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra (OFT), where he was member of a select group of eleven strings that performed in the most important music festivals in Italy. Eugenio moved to the States in 2013 to obtain a Master's degree in cello performance at the Mannes School of Music, and trained with Ms. Barbara Stein Mallow. He then moved to the Bay Area to attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) under Jennifer Culp and Elizabeth Reed (baroque cello).

Eugenio has developed a particular interest in baroque music, and has made this his primary focus. His education started at the St. Rocco Ancient Sacred Music Academy, and was subsequently involved in the Baroque Music Ensemble at Mannes College. He has been a member of the Baroque Ensemble at SFCM, where he became the first Professional Studies Diploma candidate in early music. He has participated in early music festivals such as Valley of the Moon Music Festival and American Bach Soloists Academy. In the Spring of 2017, he was awarded a performance of Haydn's Cello Concerto in C Major with the SFCM Baroque Ensemble as the concerto competition winner.

Other involvements in the Bay Area include touring with El Mundo (Grammy-nominated baroque group led by Richard Savino), collaborating with Valley of the Moon (chamber music works from the classical/romantic repertoire played on historical instruments) with important figures of the early music scene (Elizabeth Blumenstock, Monica Huggett, Tanya Tomkins, and Eric Hoeprich). He recently performed for The Da Camera Society in Los Angeles, The Houston Early Music Festival, and The Berkeley Festival & Exhibition.

Eugenio plays a Filippo Fasser cello, made in Brescia in 2012, copy of a Pietro Giacomo Rogeri 1717.
